THIS IS JUST an update posting. The taco truck issue has gone national, courtesy of the NY Times.

As usual, the NYT article is better than the LA Times, and really does nail Angelenos for not caring about most issues. True on 99% of all accounts. Such as changing the carpool lanes to toll lanes on the 210 and 10 freeways, total bullshit. But no one complains and Cal Trans is a bit like a charging rhino when it gets started... but that could be a whole 'nother post.
